So it looks like the two events were simply coincidental - the power problem seems to be hardware (accessories) related. ![]() My battery went dead, but I swapped an old laptop's power supply/electric cord and that works. But what is weird is that it looks like my laptop's power supply went kaput roughly at the same time. I installed a video convertor software program from the CNET site and tried to uncheck every time they asked if I wanted to add this or that additional program -still, some of it got on the laptop, but I think I got rid of most of the crap using the Malwarebytes, Spybot, etc. I think I may have overreacted, but you never know. Sorry for my cryptic post, but I was in a panic and just wanted to get the process going.
